Ten Top Tips to help you celebrate spring
First, a bit of an intro:
Spring is a time for rebirth & revival, & who doesn’t need a bit of that after the time we have all been through?
After a long hard year & a winter to match, the sun is finally putting his (or her, or their) hat on, & the spring flowers are coming through.
Beautiful Bluebells in particular are having a moment, & did you know – half the world’s Bluebells are to be found in the UK! How lucky are we?
Our little English common bluebell is a bit more delicate than the Spanish whoppers in my photograph but whatever you’re looking at, they are a sight for sore eyes.
The countryside is awash with a carpet of blue at the moment, so if you are able to, get out there now & take a look because they won’t last long.
Don’t be tempted to pick them; its against the law & they’re poisonous to both humans & pets.
Ok you’ve waited long enough. Here are my 10 top tips for celebrating one of the most lovely times of the year (& one in which we can finally see some light at the end of this very long tunnel):
TIP 1. Dance around a Maypole (keep your togs on, it can still get chilly)
TIP 2. Go Bluebell hunting
Tip 3. Plant a spring garden & include lots of veg
Tip 4. Have a picnic in the park (wrap up just in case)
Tip 5. Decorate your home with beautiful spring flowers like daffodils & tulips
Tip 6. Watch out for rainbows in the spring showers
Tip 7. Take a late evening walk. Evenings are getting longer so there’s no excuse (unless its the finale of Line of Duty)
Tip 8. Watch the sunrise (before it gets too early)
Tip 9. Write a letter (with a pen) to someone you haven’t seen over lockdown
Tip 10. Take a photograph every day for a month & turn it into a slide show
